Poplar Green Futures is multi-partner project led by Poplar HARCA.

Poplar HARCA and URBED are working with community partners to develop a Low Carbon Strategy & Action Plan for Poplar & Lansbury. Shared Future is helping through supporting community engagement. The project is supported by the Mayor of London’s ‘Future Neighbourhood’ programme, Aberfeldy LLP and Chrisp Street Developments Ltd. It is part of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets’ Net Zero Carbon Partnership.

The Team

Poplar HARCA is a housing and community regeneration association based in East London. With a mission of creating opportunities for its communities to thrive, it’s currently leading an exciting place-shaping programme to bring new homes, as well as education, healthcare, faith, business and community spaces to Tower Hamlets.

URBED (Urbanism, Environment and Design) Ltd is an award-winning design and research consultancy based in Manchester. We believe in building sustainable towns and cities and enabling good design.

Shared Future CIC creates informed and insightful dialogue, between those with lived experience and those with more technical knowledge, about places or topics such as climate change, health and wellbeing, community safety or housing.

The Programme

We’ll be hosting a series of workshops and events throughout summer 2022 in partnership with local community groups to build and exchange knowledge and experience of the projects already happening in the area, develop new actions and projects, and to share these learning within a set of wider community events.
