Working Towards a low carbon neighbourhood
The Poplar Green Futures Strategy and Action Plan is supported by a Baseline Study, Engagement Report, and a Funding and Delivery Report.
These documents are described below and can be read and downloaded individually.
Strategy and Action Plan
Sets out a vision of a future Poplar that improves the health and wellbeing of residents, whilst addressing the urgent and pressing need to decarbonise systems across the neighbourhood.
The document proposes a range of projects and interventions which neighbourhood stakeholders and partnerships can take forward, focussed around four key low-carbon themes:
- Air Quality and Active Travel
- Green Spaces and Local Food Growing
- Homes and Energy
- Resources and Waste Reduction
Baseline Study
This document brings together spatial and demographic data specific to the neighbourhood of Lansbury, as well as the wider Poplar area and Tower Hamlets borough.
It offers a hyper-local evidence base for each of the four low-carbon themes (which has subsequently shaped the projects in the Strategy and Action Plan) and is a resource for any local stakeholder to utilise and act upon.
Engagement Report
Provides an overview of the local engagement programme undertaken with residents and stakeholders to map and identify existing and future low-carbon opportunities, challenges and priorities within the neighbourhood. Alongside the Baseline Study, these findings have subsequently informed the overarching Strategy and Action Plan.
Funding and Delivery Report
Sets out a range of funding sources and delivery approaches to support the sustainable growth of existing low-carbon projects in the neighbourhood, as well as future interventions set out in the Strategy and Action Plan.
